Kinorhynch species identifications, northern Gulf of Mexico, 2013-2014

This dataset has kinorhynch species identifications for animals collected in the northern Gulf of Mexico. Collections were made during Fall 2013 and 2014 at 36 locations on the Gulf continental shelf using a multicorer. Cores were collected at a depth of 5 cm from the sediment/seawater interface. The animals were isolated from the sediment by centrifugation and were identified by either light microscopy or scannning electron microscopy. This dataset reports the number of individuals of each species per station.

本数据集收录了墨西哥湾北部采集动物的动吻虫（Kinorhynch）物种鉴定结果。样本采集工作于2013年及2014年秋季开展，采用多管采样器（multicorer）在墨西哥湾大陆架的36个站位完成。所采集的岩芯样本取自沉积物-海水界面下方5厘米深度处。研究对象通过离心法从沉积物中分离，并分别借助光学显微镜（light microscopy）或扫描电子显微镜（scanning electron microscopy）完成物种鉴定。本数据集记录了各站位对应物种的个体数量。
