Genome sequencing of the Arabidopsis thaliana PSB-D cell line

PSB-D is a dark-grown cell line originally developed as a synchronized system for the study of the cell cycle in plants. It has also been used as an experimental system for proteomics and other work. It is important to understand the system-wide molecular characteristics that distinguish PSB-D from other Arabidopsis tissue types in order to better interpret results and understand the limitations of the system, as well as to provide accurate protein sequence databases for LC-MS/MS search. Genome re-sequencing of PSB-D is part of an extensive genomic, transcriptomic and proteomic effort to characterize the cell line for these purposes.
