资源简介:
Dinoflagellates of the genus Gambierdiscus produce neurotoxins responsible for ciguatera fish poisoning, the most prevalent seafood poisoning syndrome worldwide. These toxins can be bioaccumulated through the coral reef food web, resulting in highly toxic fish where Gambeirdiscus is abundant. Gambierdiscus polynesiensis is endemic to French Polynesia, and is the only species shown thus far to produce substantial quantities of ciguatoxins. TB-92, isolated from Tubui Island, Australes Archipeligo, French Polynesia, is a highly toxic isolate that produces ciguatoxins dominated CTX-3C, CTX-3B, CTX4A, CTX4B, and m-seco-CTX3C. To date, there has been no gene expression data available on this species. This transcriptome sequencing project was aimed at identifying genes involved in toxin biosynthesis.
