Glosses on Dawwânî’s Commentary, by MOLLA YÛSUF (b. Muḥammad Jân Ḳarabâghî Muḥammadshâhî, who died after A.H. 1030).
The first fol. being wanting, the book begins with the following words:
و الملة و الدین محمد بن اسعد الصدیقی الدوانی روح الله روحه و زاد فتوحه مشتملا علی غرر الفرائد الخ.
The author says towards the end of his preface:
و خدمت به خدم العبید لمولاه (!) العتبةَ العلیة...لمخدومنا و مولانا قطب العالم ...معین الدین ابو حامد خلیل الله سلمه الله و ابقاه....و لما استسعدت بهذه السعادة فی بلدة سمرقند فی البقعة المبارکة المیمونة خانقاه حضرة المخدومیة الغوثیة الحسنیة الخوارزمیة 1 و هو مخدوم مخدومنا ...سمیته بالخانقاهی الخ.
This is the first of his two glosses, as mentioned by Ḥ. Kh. (iv. 217). It does not extend over the last portion of the main text. The author finished it in Rabî’I., 1000.
Plainly written, by Saiyid Zain al-‘âbidîn b. Saiyid ‘Abd al-wahhâb Ḥusainî, at Makkah. Date, 3rd Dhû-alḳa’dah, 1052.
