资源简介:
These data are from a pollinator-exclusion study conducted by Cecilia Girvin and Eric LoPresti in a pink-flowered population at the Gene Howe Wildlife Management Area in Hemphill County, Texas. In May 2021, Cecilia excluded floral visitors from visiting inflorescences during the day and/or night by covering inflorescences with drawstring bags. Four pollinator-exclusion treatments (with a random order) were alternately assigned to inflorescences: open to pollinators overnight (“N” treatment), open during the day (“D” treatment), open both night and day (“O” treatment), and open never (“C” treatment). Cecilia opened/closed bags every dawn and dusk from the day of first flower until senescence of the inflorescence (usually 4-6 days), when each inflorescence was permanently bagged. While we tagged 360 inflorescences in this population, 322 inflorescences survived on 103 plants. All collected inflorescences (~3 weeks later) were scored for pollination success by Cecilia Girvin and Sierra Jaeger, by whether each flower produced a seed or not. Individual columns in the dataset are further described in the associated R script, titled "A. fragrans pollination experiment 2021 analysis script".
