Georgenia sp. M64, an aerobic and chemoheterotrophic bacterium belonging to marine Bogoriellaceae lineage, was a putative new species isolated from the sediments of South China Sea. In this study, we present the complete genome sequences of strain M64, which only comprised one circular chromosome with 4,183,773 bp, and the content of G + C was 73.20%. In total, 3695 CDSs, 47 tRNA, 10 rRNA, and 26 sRNA genes were obtained. Genomic analysis of strain M64 showed that it has the ability to produce antioxidant carotenoids and a large number of heavy metal resistance genes, such as arsenic, mercury, cadmium, copper, and zinc. In addition, strain M64 contains two prophage that may contribute to host protection against lysis by related Georgenia-like phages. This is the report of genome-wide information on a bacterium of the genus Georgenia isolated from the deep sea, providing insights into how microorganisms of this genus adapt to deep-sea environments.
