The fairway is given by regulations of 11 December 2019 no. 1834 (Regulations relating to paternal leader).
The entire Norwegian coast is currently covered by a standardised reference system of different fairways categories. The fairway structure includes the network of seafarers’ transport vessels and is a national geographical reference system for measures within management, planning, development and operational activities in the coastal zone.
