Lipidomics Profiling of falciparum malaria in Burkina Faso

This study investigates the lipidome profiles manifested in human serum samples originating from 198 west African children from three independent ethnic groups in Burkina Faso, collected before and during P. falciparum malarial infection, with the aim of characterizing lipid metabolism perturbations associated with disease severity. Untargeted lipidomic profiling was performed using complex lipid platform at Metabolon Inc. (Durham, NC, USA).

本研究以布基纳法索三个独立族群的198名西非儿童的血清样本为研究对象，分析其脂质组（lipidome）谱特征；这些样本分别采集于恶性疟原虫（P. falciparum）感染前及感染期间，研究旨在表征与疾病严重程度相关的脂质代谢扰动特征。本研究依托美国北卡罗来纳州达勒姆市Metabolon公司的复合脂质组分析平台，完成了非靶向脂质组学（untargeted lipidomic）谱分析。
