Digital Archive from an Archaeological Watching Brief at St Mary's Church, North Marston, Buckinghamshire, March and December 2005

This collection comprises images, site records and spreadsheets from an archaeological watching brief at St Mary's Church, North Marston, Buckinghamshire. This work was undertaken by Network Archaeology Ltd during the construction of a French drain and associated soakaway around the tower of the church in March and December 2005. Disarticulated human remains, possibley a charnel deposit, was identified in the soakaway, while the footings of the tower were seen to be made from Oving Limestone. Finds spanning the medieval to modern periods were recovered. The watching brief recorded evidence of interment from the medieval period onwards, with particular emphasis upon the north, and oldest, side of the church.

本数据集包含英国白金汉郡北马斯顿圣玛丽教堂（St Mary's Church, North Marston, Buckinghamshire）考古监察简报（archaeological watching brief）相关的影像资料、现场记录与电子表格。该项工作由网络考古有限公司（Network Archaeology Ltd）于2005年3月与12月间，在教堂塔楼周边实施法式排水沟及配套渗滤坑施工期间开展。渗滤坑内发现了零散人骨，疑似为藏骨坑堆积；同时可见教堂塔楼的基础由奥文石灰岩（Oving Limestone）砌筑。此次考古工作共出土涵盖中世纪至近现代的各类遗物。本次考古监察简报记录了中世纪以降的墓葬遗迹，其中重点关注了教堂北侧——即教堂最古老的一侧——的相关遗存。
