Exposure to volatile organic compounds and experience confusion/memory problems

This study utilized data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES, 2011–2018, Pre-pandemic data) to investigate associations between urinary volatile organic compound (VOC) metabolites and self-reported cognitive decline. The analysis included 4,207 participants, among whom 356 reported confusion or memory problems.本研究采用美国国家健康与营养检查调查（National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, NHANES）2011—2018年大流行前数据集，旨在探究尿液挥发性有机化合物（volatile organic compound, VOC）代谢物与自我报告认知衰退之间的关联。本次分析共纳入4207名研究对象，其中356名自述存在意识模糊或记忆问题。
