VPRS 19183 Mining Warden's Registers, Beechworth Mining Division

The Gold Fields Act 1857 and subsequent mining legislation required Mining Wardens (in their judicial function) to keep a record of all decisions and orders made. The Mining Warden’s Register records details of each case including the case number, the date of the complaint, the names and addresses of the complainant(s) and defendant(s), the nature of the complaint and the value or amount sought and the decision and signature of the Warden. It is not known whether any more registers in this series were created after 1944.

1857年《金矿场法案》（Gold Fields Act 1857）及后续出台的矿业立法规定，矿业典狱官（Mining Wardens）在行使司法职能时，需留存所有作出的裁决与命令的记录。矿业典狱官登记册（Mining Warden’s Register）会收录每起案件的详细信息，涵盖案件编号、投诉发起日期、投诉人与被告的姓名及住址、投诉事由、诉求金额或标的价值，以及典狱官的裁决结果与签名。目前尚不清楚1944年之后是否仍生成过该系列的其他登记册。
