16S rRNA analysis of perianal microbiota across HPV and CIN stages

This project investigates the composition and diversity of intestinal microbiota obtained from perianal swab samples in women with various HPV infection states and stages of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN). Using 16S rRNA gene sequencing, we profiled the bacterial communities associated with the perianal region reflecting gut microbial composition, compared diversity metrics among groups with different cervical disease severities and HPV infection patterns, and identified taxa potentially linked to disease progression. The findings provide insights into host-microbiome interactions in HPV- and CIN-associated conditions and may contribute to the identification of microbial biomarkers for disease diagnosis and prognosis.
