We report six ceftriaxone-resistant N. gonorrhoeae strains isolated in Japan between 2018 and 2024, one of which belonged to multi locus sequence type (MLST) 9903 and carried penA60. This strain, a lineage different from FC428, is likely independent of the pre-2017 clonal expansion in Japan.
