The alteration in genomic expression profiles of mRNA and long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) in bovine macrophages in response to Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis (MAP) infection was investigated by applying an RNA-Seq based approach. A computational pipeline was implemented which identified more than 300 unannotated lncRNAs in macrophages of which 38 were differentially regulated by the infection. Primary bovine macrophages were infected with MAP, total RNA was sequenced and analyzed in terms of mRNA and lncRNA expression
