TPSCF500: a long-term, monthly 500m snow cover frequency dataset over the Third Pole

The TPSCF500 provides monthly and annual 500m snow cover frequency (SCF) images in the GeoTIFF format over the Third Pole during 1950-2024. All values are stored in an integer type (Int16) for saving storage space, and need to be divided by 10000 to get the SCF values, whose range is 0-1. The background value of the SCF images is 20000. Annual SCF images are synthesized from monthly SCF data over the hydrological year, which spans September 1 to August 31 of the following year.TPSCF500数据集可提供1950年至2024年期间覆盖第三极（Third Pole）区域、分辨率为500米的月度与年度积雪频率（Snow Cover Frequency，SCF）影像，数据格式为GeoTIFF。所有像素值以Int16整数类型存储以节约存储空间，使用前需将其除以10000，方可得到取值范围为0~1的积雪频率值。该积雪频率影像的背景值为20000。年度积雪频率影像由水文年内的月度积雪频率数据合成，该水文年的时间跨度为当年9月1日至次年8月31日。
