资源简介:
Title: Observation of Cosmic-Ray Anisotropy in the Southern Hemisphere with Twelve Years of Data Collected by the IceCube Neutrino Observatory

The IceCube Observatory has analyzed 12 years of cosmic-ray muon data collected by the in-ice array from May 13, 2011, to May 12, 2023. This data sample comprises 7.92e11 events collected in a total of 4,295.29 days. The data in this release was used to determine the sky maps in J2000 Equatorial Coordinates of the arrival direction of the cosmic rays from about 10 TeV to 5 PeV. The event sample was split into nine energy sets labeled through their corresponding median energy: 13 TeV, 24 TeV, 42 TeV, 67 TeV, 130 TeV, 240 TeV, 470 TeV, 1,500 TeV, and 5,300 TeV.

For each energy set, we produced a sky map with relative intensity and one with statistical significance (using the method developed by Li&Ma). Sky maps are generated using HEALPix with nside=64. Top-hat smoothing was used for visualization only, but all analyses were performed on the pixelized (i.e., unsmoothed) maps.

Data files:

README file

Sky map data files: the FITS files contain data event counts and reference event counts in equatorial coordinates. Each file contains all twelve-year-period events collected by IceCube. Nine files containing the events corresponding to each energy set.

All Data - IC86_sid.fits

Emed = 13 TeV - IC86_sid_4-4.25GeV.fits

Emed = 24 TeV - IC86_sid_4.25-4.5GeV.fits

Emed = 42 TeV - IC86_sid_4.5-4.75GeV.fits

Emed = 67 TeV - IC86_sid_4.75-5GeV.fits

Emed = 130 TeV - IC86_sid_5-5.25GeV.fits

Emed = 240 TeV - IC86_sid_5.25-5.5GeV.fits

Emed = 470 TeV - IC86_sid_5.5-6GeV.fits

Emed = 1500 TeV - IC86_sid_6-6.5GeV.fits

Emed = 5300 TeV - IC86_sid_6.5-100GeV.fits

Energy distribution file: energy_distributions.json file containing the simulated true particle energy histogram for each of the nine energy sets.

IceCube_Anisotropy_Starter.ipynb Jupyter Notebook: the script shows an example performing the following tasks:

read data and reference counts from the FITS files

read the json energy histogram files

plot sky maps of relative intensity and statistical significance using masking and smoothing

Notes: This data set was created by IceCube for the cosmic ray anisotropy analysis.
