Spiders of Anavilhanas National Park, Amazonas, Brazil

The dataset included in the excel file *Spiders_Anavilhanas_dataset.xlsx* contains data from spider sampled in the Anavilhanas Archipelago, located in the state of Amazonas, Brazil. These data are part of the study that resulted in the manuscript "Island biogeography in rivers: additional evidence reinforces the importance of river islands for the diversity of spiders in the Amazon," authored by Sérgio Henrique Borges, Carolina Veronese Corrêa da Silva, and Thiago Gomes de Carvalho. This manuscript is currently under consideration for publication in the scientific journal Insect Diversity and Conservation. The dataset comprises three spreadsheets: *Final_checklist*, *Database_understory*, and *Database_ground*. The *Final_checklist* spreadsheet contains spider identifications at the family, genus, and morphospecies resolutions distributed across vegetation types and sampling strata studied. The *Database_understory* spreadsheet contains data on spiders collected in the understory of the vegetation types across the sampling sites. Finally, the *Database_ground* spreadsheet contains data on spiders collected on the ground within the same vegetation types and sampling sites. The figures in these spreadsheets refer to the individual specimens collected and details regarding collection methodologies and the overall study design can be found in the original study.
