Here we discovered a spontaneous mutant on color of root skin (RS, from red to yellow) and leaf vein base (LVB, purple fading) of variety Zheshu81. To understand the coloring mechanism of Zheshu 81 and its mutant, transcriptome data were used to analyze molecular mechanism of anthocyanins and flavonoids biosynthesis.
