CD4+ T lymphocytes are critical in the control of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. Dysfunction of these cells in HIV-host interplay is closely related to host genomic alterations, among which gene methylation and expression play important roles. To dissect the molecular mechanisms underlying the response of host genome to HIV infection, here we investigate the genome-wide DNA methylation and gene expression profiles in two T lymphocyte cell lines, MT-2 and Jurkat, using Methylated DNA Immunoprecipitation Sequencing (MeDIP-seq) and RNA-sequencing (RNA-seq) respectively.
