Pune08-An Indian variant of classical E-MRSA 15. Staphylococcus aureus

Pune08 was isolated from the skin wound of a patient and was also an Indian variant of classical E MRSA-15. It has one extra band in the PFGE pattern than that of M37 and has higher amounts of some toxins. It was very difficult to get rid of the infection and several antibiotics were used. Whole genome sequencing was done to study the differences between two Indian variants and the classical strain.
