Inner Asia and the Spatial Politics of Empire was written by William Honeychurch and published in 2015. Honeychurch gives a comprehensive analysis of Bronze age Eurasian steppe peoples, in areas covering modern China, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, and Russia. He presents archaeological data and historical evidence to argue in favor of the complex nature of pastoral nomadism. Honeychurch also emphasizes spatial politics for the Xiongnu state to decenter Chinese influences and instead study such influences in addition to indigenous contexts.
