资源简介:
This study investigated the effects of tailoring surface features and textures of Ti-6Al-4V Intervertebral body fusion devices (IBFDs) on the device mechanical performance, particularly at the implant-to-bone interfacial bond. The study investigated the use of laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) additive manufacturing (AM) compared to electric-discharge machining (EDM) for generating textured surface designs. The influence of both the textured surface design and the manufacturing technique was assessed based on the mechanical performance of the textured surfaces. This involved a combination of biomechanical compression tests and evaluation methods such as SEM, EDS Microscopy, CT scanning and surface profilometry. This data is the original data used to generate the manuscript "Evaluating the influence of surface texture design on the mechanical performance of interbody spinal cage devices"
