Evolutionary Insights Into Toxins Diversity in Ceriantharia (Cnidaria; Anthozoa)

In this manuscript, we presented a comprehensive analysis of the transcriptome in both the larval and polyp stages of a species of tube-dwelling anemone, Arachnanthus errans. We provide a complete annotation of the larva and polyp transcriptome and identified a spectrum of putative toxin-like proteins during these stages. Additionlly, we performed a phylogenetic reconstruction using putative neurotoxin-like genes based on nine polyps of Ceriantharia. We creating a cDNA library from tissue samples of larva and polyp tentacles, followed by the de novo assembly of raw sequencing data.
