Shared reading aloud is an innovative didactic practice that, if introduced within the educational and scholastic system, facilitates the development of cognitive, linguistic and comprehension skills and affects emotional and relational competences. Over time, the University of Perugia has developed a series of fundamental principles of the method that must be taken into account to ensure the success of the practice. In this contribution the evidence presented demonstrates that systematic and rigorous adherence to the principles of the shared reading aloud method is decisive in achieving results.
