Data for "Organic matter history shapes microbial responses to simulated Arctic greening in thawing Yedoma sediments"
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains microbial biomass, community composition, turnover time, biomass-normalised activity, and bulk sediment data from a 7-week aerobic laboratory incubation experiment simulating Arctic greening with sediments from a retrogressive thaw slump on Kurungnakh Island in the Lena River Delta, northeastern Siberia. The experiment was conducted to assess how substrate history and increased substrate availability affect microbial biomass, community structure, turnover, and resource-allocation strategies in a greening Arctic. The dataset includes individual PLFA concentrations, PLFA-derived microbial biomass of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria and fungi, biomass ratios, bacterial and fungal turnover times, biomass-normalised microbial activities, and bulk sediment properties.Sediment samples were collected during an expedition in July/August 2018 from active layer pits at three sites: two thaw mounds (TM1, TM2) containing Pleistocene-aged Yedoma sediments and the slump floor (SF), where Pleistocene and Holocene sediments were mixed due to erosion.
