This dataset contains temperature observations and gape measurements obtained from six oysters using a newly-developed sensor and data transmission system. Testing was performed at the University of South Mississippi's Gulf Coast Research Laboratory (GCRL) in Ocean Springs, MS, from 2018-07-01 through 2018-08-02. The system consists of a Hall Effect sensor and a small magnet affixed to the shells of the oyster; the sensor produces a voltage proportional to the distance to the magnet and thus the gape length.
