ROLE-PLAY AND SIMULATION ACTIVITIES AS EFFECTIVE SPEAKING TECHNIQUES

Developing speaking skills is one of the primary objectives of foreign language education. However, many learners experience difficulties in oral communication due to limited vocabulary, lack of confidence, and insufficient opportunities for authentic language practice. Role-play and simulation activities have emerged as effective pedagogical techniques that create realistic communicative situations and encourage active student participation. These methods provide learners with opportunities to practice language in meaningful contexts, improve fluency, and develop communicative competence.This thesis examines the effectiveness of role-play and simulation activities in enhancing speaking skills among language learners. Through the analysis of current educational literature, the study highlights the advantages of these interactive techniques in promoting learner engagement, reducing speaking anxiety, and fostering collaborative learning . The findings suggest that role-play and simulation activities contribute significantly to the development of pronunciation, vocabulary usage, grammatical accuracy, and overall communicative confidence.The study concludes that incorporating role-play and simulation techniques into language classrooms can create a more dynamic and learner-centered environment, ultimately improving students' speaking performance and communication abilities.口语能力培养是外语教育的核心目标之一。然而诸多外语学习者常因词汇储备不足、自信心匮乏以及真实语言实践机会匮乏，而在口语交际中遭遇困境。角色扮演（Role-play）与模拟活动已成为行之有效的教学手段，能够创设逼真的交际场景，激发学生的主动参与度。此类教学法可为学习者提供在真实语境中练习语言、提升流利度并培养交际能力的契机。本研究旨在探究角色扮演与模拟活动对提升外语学习者口语能力的实际效果。通过梳理当前教育领域的相关文献，本研究阐明了此类互动教学手段在提升学习者参与度、缓解口语焦虑以及推动协作式学习方面的优势。研究结果表明，角色扮演与模拟活动对学习者的发音水平、词汇运用能力、语法准确性以及整体交际自信心的提升均具有显著促进作用。本研究最终得出结论：将角色扮演与模拟教学法融入外语课堂，可构建更具活力的以学习者为中心的教学环境，最终切实提升学生的口语表现与综合交际能力。
