Forest road map

The product shows where there are legally enacted forest road plans in the canton of Bern, which prohibit motor vehicle traffic on forest roads and provide for general specific derogations. The map shows which roads on and in the forest area are considered forest roads and which are publicly accessible municipal or even cantonal roads. In addition, it shows all general-concrete exceptional permits that allow access to the forest roads. You can also see the correct signalling for the forest roads with the approximate locations. Since setting up the signalling is the task of the municipality and it can decide whether a signal is required, the signals shown in the plan are missing in many places (still). The map shows only the forest road plans legally issued in the forest road plan procedure. Where a representation is missing, a forest road plan does not yet exist or is not yet in legal force. The general motor vehicle driving ban applies on forest roads also without a forest road plan and without signalling (Art. 15 Federal Forest Act WaG; SR 921.0; Art. 24 cantonal forest law KWAG; SPA 921.11). The forest road plan clearly shows which roads in the forest are to be regarded as forest roads in the legal sense on which this statutory motor vehicle driving ban is valid. The contents and procedures for the forest road plan are regulated in Articles 32, 32a and 32b of the cantonal forest regulation KWAV (BSG 921.111). The possible general-concrete derogations are based on Art. 23 cantonal forest law KWAG (BSG 921.11).
