IODP Expedition 340 Thin section images

Hard rock and sediment thin section images were acquired using either the JRSO-developed Petrographic Image Capture and Archival Tool (PICAT) imager or (rarely) an upright microscope and a digital camera. Sample images are acquired in unpolarized, polarized, and/or cross-polarized light. Image files are presented compressed by hole.本数据集涵盖硬岩与沉积岩薄片图像，采集方式主要分为两类：绝大多数采用JRSO研发的岩相图像捕获与归档工具（Petrographic Image Capture and Archival Tool，缩写PICAT）成像仪完成采集，极少数情况下使用正置显微镜搭配数码相机进行采集。样本图像可在非偏振光、偏振光及正交偏振光条件下采集。所提供的图像文件将按照钻孔单元进行压缩存储。
