Lactobacillus with probiotic properties

Strains of Lactobacillus bacteria are widely used in probiotics. According to modern requirements, to study the safety of potential probiotic strains of microorganisms, it is necessary to characterize their morphological, cultural, physiological-biochemical, and antagonistic properties and determine their virulence, toxigenicity, and toxicity. Sequencing of the whole genome allows not only to establish the presence or absence of required gene determinants, but also to establish the metabolic pathways of strains, to identify possible mechanisms of interaction with the host organism, and to substantiate probiotic effects.
