RNA-Seq profiles of bortezomib-sensitive and -resistant multiple myeloma in bone marrow samples from African American patients

This study aimed to identify circulating microRNAs (miRNAs) associated
with bortezomib resistance in multiple myeloma (MM) among African American
males using RNA sequencing. RNA-Seq was conducted on 10 bone marrow
samples (5 bortezomib-sensitive and 5 bortezomib-resistant) from African
American males. miRNA extraction was performed using the phenol-chloroform
method with TRIzol reagent (Invitrogen). RNA-Seq and subsequent
bioinformatics analyses were carried out by CD Genomics using standard
protocols.
