Prescriptive conservation biogeography: The construction of a spatially-explicit population model of the decline of Australia’s Numbat (Myrmecobius fasciatus) in response to predation by introduced cats (Felis catus).

A case study example of the use of multitemporal occurence data and population dynamic information to build process-oriented models of range dynamics of threatened mammals. The example includes analysis scripts coded in program R, and all the exemplar data required to simulate the range contraction of the Australian Numbat in response to predation by the introduces cat. The example further indicates how such models can be used to guide conservation actions, such as threat removal and reintroductions.<br>
