Gene regulation of plant disease resistance

Cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) is a source of food and income for million people in tropical areas. However, cassava yield is threatened by many pathogens, including cassava bacterial blight (CBB) caused by Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. manihotis (Xam), which is one of the most serious diseases of cassava. Therefore, it is an urgent problem to improve cassava resistance.
