A class about energy conversion using a bicycle, engine, alternator and bulb

In this work we present a teaching proposal about energy conversion, through the analysis of a system consisting of a bicycle wheel connected to an alternator and a headlight, activated by an engine. This experiment provides an opportunity to discuss energy conversion, explaining the types of energy involved in the process, the need to power the system, and efficiency in energy use. The proposal was realized in a high school class, in which the students participated in a lecture about energy along with a demonstration of the experiment. The analysis of the data, collected via questionnaires before and after the class, indicates an improvement in the students’ understanding regarding energy conversion and dissipation processes.

本研究提出一项能量转换教学方案，该方案通过分析一套由自行车轮、交流发电机（alternator）与车头灯（headlight）相连且由发动机驱动的系统进行设计。该实验为探讨能量转换提供了理想契机，可用于阐释该过程中涉及的各类能量形式、系统供电的必要性以及能量利用效率。该教学方案已在高中课堂中实施，学生们参与了一场能量主题讲座，并观摩了本次实验的演示环节。通过对课前与课后发放的问卷收集到的数据开展分析，结果显示学生们对能量转换与能量耗散过程的理解水平均有所提升。
