VPRS 61 Inward Registered Correspondence

The Denominational School Board was established in 1848 and was responsible for the distribution of funds to denominational schools from an annual Parliamentary grant and a proportion of the Church and Schools Estates revenue.This series consists of the inwards correspondence of the Board. . Subjects of the correspondence include applications from teachers for positions, applications for grants and subsidies, the nature and duration of tenure of sites and the acquisition of sites for schools, matters regarding reports on schools, the Trustees of schools, salaries of employees, the provision of books and requisites and matters relating to the inspection of schools.Each piece of correspondence is enclosed in a file sheet upon which is given the registered number of the correspondence (from VPRS 60 Registers of Inwards Correspondence), the date of registration, a summary of the subject and acknowledgments and / or annotations (or minutes) by responsible action officers.
