AUB-O, AUB-M and control endometrial tissues were subjected to multi-omic analyses to identify biomarkers. Quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR), western blotting and immunohistochemical analysis were performed to explore the expression of a potential biomarker, secreted frizzled-related protein 4 (SFRP4), in AUB-O, AUB-M and control endometrial tissues and human endometrial epithelial cells (hEECs) isolated from AUB-O patients (identified by cell immunofluorescence analysis). Flow cytometry, terminal deoxyribonucleotide transferase-mediated dUTP nick end labelling (TUNEL), transwell, wound healing, Cell Counting Kit-8, EdU staining and colony formation assays were used to assess hEECs after SFRP4 knockdown.
