This dataset was collected to test a hypothesis that vegetation coverage in an area influence to the number of insects regardless of their type<br>The experiment was performed in the grassland near York University with a transect measuring tape laid in a line of 25 metres for each site corresponding to the pitfall letters(A,B,C,D)<br>and a m^2 quadrat was placed 5 metres apart, measuring coverage, then placing a pitfall trap on each centre, placing total of 5 pitfall traps in a 25 metre transect line.<br>all transect had a random starting point from the edge of the grasslands towards the centre. Each pitfall traps were apart by approximately 6 metres.<br>pitfall traps were placed for approximately 2 and a half hours, and then total number of insects caught were recorded thereafter.<br>First set of pitfall traps (A,B), were placed on October 16th, 2014 with a weather of heavy torrential rain, with a mean temperature of 15.7'C,<br>and second set of traps (C,D), were placed on October 23rd, 2014 with sunny weather with a mean temperature of 11.5'C.
