This dataset includes Excel files with data from 411 adult female Masai giraffes (G. tippelskirchi). Individual giraffe data were collected over 7 years (Jan 2012- Oct 2018)
in the Tarangire Ecosystem of northern Tanzania using photographic
capture-resight techniques. Spot pattern traits were measured on the photographs using ImageJ software. The files include: (1) membership in adult female communities and mixed-sex supercommunities ["Communities"]; (2) list of edge weights between dyads["gbi_edgelist"]; (3) individual data on spot traits ["SpotData"]; and (4) summary of spot trait data ["SpotDataSummary"]. AID2019 is the individual animal identification. SC is supercommunities. AFC is adult female communities. Other variables are explained in the main text.<br>
