This FAIRsharing record describes: A convention for the storage and exchange of sonar data in netCDF4-formatted computer files with the aim of facilitating the use of sonar data for research and survey purposes. Version 1 was developed to store data from fisheries omni-sonars. Version 2 added the storage of data from other acoustic equipment, including echosounders, multi-beam bathymetric sonars, and acoustic doppler current profilers, as well as the means to store processed acoustic data from such sensors.
