Nitrates Priority Protection Areas (NPAs) are defined within vulnerable areas in the action programmes taken under the Nitrates Directive in vulnerable areas (as well as CACs (layer #65) and SEZs (layer #67)).This is a zoning specific to the Seine Normandy Basin. They correspond to spaces that combine high vulnerability to nitrates and a high stake in drinking water supply. The NPAs are regional specificities and are defined by prefectural decrees.
