Coal Combustion Waste Impoundments

CCW impoundments are areas used for emplacement of liquid borne waste material resulting from the burning of coal for the production of electricity. The map feature's attributes include observations by IDEM staff and information found in USEPA contracted reports about the structural integrity and hazard potential some of the impoundment dams. This data set was developed by digitizing areas interpreted to be CCW impoundments from aerial photo interpretation, therefore some of these feature have not been verified by direct field observation. CCW/CCR impoundments that have been field verified are also included in these data, as is information from those inspected impoundments reports.CCW储存池（CCW impoundments）指用于存放燃煤发电过程中产生的液态废弃物的区域。该地图要素的属性涵盖IDEM工作人员的实地观测数据，以及美国环境保护署（USEPA）签约报告中有关部分储存池坝体结构完整性与潜在危害的相关信息。本数据集通过对航空影像解译识别出的疑似CCW储存池区域开展数字化处理构建而成，因此其中部分要素尚未经直接实地观测验证。此外，经实地验证的CCW/燃煤燃烧残渣（CCR，Coal Combustion Residuals）储存池，以及经核查的储存池相关报告信息，亦被纳入本数据集。
