Final Regulatory Flexability Analysis For Amendment 20 to the Fishery Management Plan for Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands King and Tanner Crabs : May 2006

In January 2004, the U.S. Congress amended Section 313(j) of Magnuson-Stevens Act to mandate the Secretary of Commerce implement the Crab Rationalization Program for the Bering Sea and Aleutian Islands crab fisheries (Program). Under the Program, quota share, processor quota share, individual fishing quota, and individual processing quota are issued for a single Tanner crab (C. bairdi) fishery across the entire BSAI management area. This action amends the Program, establishing allocations of harvesting and processing shares for each of the two separate stocks. This FRFA addresses the statutory requirements of the Regulatory Flexibility Act (RFA) of 1980, as amended by the Small Business Regulatory Enforcement Fairness Act of 1996 (5 U.S.C. 601-612). 2006 NMFS (National Marine Fisheries Service) Library Public Domain 1862
