Survey dataset on paper currency handling practices, awareness, and hygiene behaviors among adults in Arba Minch Town, Ethiopia (SPSS .sav)

This dataset contains raw questionnaire responses collected from a community-based cross-sectional study conducted among 350 adults in Arba Minch Town, Southern Ethiopia. The dataset was developed to assess participants’ knowledge/awareness, attitudes, and practices related to paper currency handling and potential disease transmission risks. The dataset includes socio-demographic variables (e.g., sex/gender, educational status) and currency-handling behavior variables such as methods of storing paper bills, frequency of cleaning/disinfecting currency storage places, precautionary behaviors after handling money, currency storage separation practices, and attitudes toward public health campaigns and digital payment use. The file is provided in SPSS format (.sav) and can be used to reproduce descriptive statistics (frequencies and percentages), cross-tabulations, and association tests (Chi-square and exact/Monte Carlo tests where applicable) reported in the corresponding manuscript.
