资源简介:
The topographic map of the canton of Solothurn by Urs Josef Walker (1800-1855) from Solothurn. In 1828, Walker was commissioned by the government of the canton of Solothurn to draw up a map of the canton of Solothurn. He was able to rely in part on existing triangulation measurements by Johann Baptist Altermatt and Antoine-Joseph Buchwalder.

The map taken between 1828 and 1832 was engraved in stone by the well-known lithographic institute Engelmann & Co. in Paris. The large-format, single-colour map measuring 94 x 80 cm in scale 1:60 000 appeared in 1832 and served in part as the basis for the topographic map of Switzerland ("Dufourkarte") 1:100 000.

Source: Cartographica Helvetica 11 (1995) 11-17
