VPRS 11224 Generation Victoria Records - Miscellaneous Indexes and Registers (PART RETURNED TO AGENCY, PART REPROCESSED 2018, SEE VPRS 13874 P2 and P3)

BackgroundBetween 1995 and 1997 the Australian Science Archives Project (ASAP), a consultancy group specialising in scientific and technical records, were employed by SECV to identify records that SECV had allocated to Generation Victoria that could be:- distributed to a new generation company;- copied and distributed to several generation companies;- retained by the SECV shell;- transferred to PROV; or- destroyed.The records had come from a number of areas of SECV, were stored in diverse locations and had originally been created in a number of different recordkeeping systems used at different times in SECV. ASAP collected data on all records it examined and created a new database with new controls symbols allocated to all files. This enabled control to be exerted over the whole body of records with a single electronic database.Nonetheless, original recordkeeping systems may be able to be identified within the whole body ofrecords. Some of those, specifically indexes and registers that were easily identified, are in this series. Others have been transferred to PROV in other series such as VPRS ZZZZZ, XXXXX , YYYYY and QQQQQ.Date RangeThis series was created in 1997 by PROV. The contents date range is the overall range of the various indexes included in the series which is 1919 to 1993.The records in this series was reprocesed in 2017. (SEE VPRS 13874 p2 and p3 consignments.Two units, Unit 1 and 16 (TEMP) were returned to the agency.

这批档案源自SECV多个部门，存储于多处不同地点，最初由SECV不同时期使用的多种档案管理系统生成。ASAP对所有检视过的档案采集相关数据，并搭建全新数据库，为所有档案文件分配专属管控标识。此举可通过该单一电子数据库实现对全部档案的全流程统一管控。
尽管如此，仍可从这批完整档案中甄别出原始档案管理系统。其中部分（尤其是易于识别的索引与登记簿）均归入本系列档案；其余档案则以其他档案系列移交至PROV，例如VPRS ZZZZZ、XXXXX、YYYYY与QQQQQ。
时限范围：本系列档案由PROV于1997年创建。本系列档案的内容时限范围为其所收录各类索引的整体覆盖周期，即1919年至1993年。本系列档案于2017年完成重新加工处理（详见VPRS 13874的第2、3批移交档案）。其中第1单元与第16（临时）单元已退回至原委托机构。
