Enrichment, Isolation and Characterization of Magnetotactic bacteria for applications in magnetic hyperthermia

Three different types of Magnetotactic bacteria; Magnetococcus, Desulfovibrio, and Elusimicrobium were successfully enriched and culture in a modified fluid thioglycollate medium. The attempts were made to extract, characterize, and functionalize magnetosomes for application in magnetic hyperthermia. The nanotoxicity of magnetosomes were checked on C. elegans.
