Marine and Antarctic Mycology: diversity and environmental application

Enzymes with different properties than that already used in technological processes can be found in specific, unusual and/or poorly explored or unexplored environments. In this context, mesophilic fungi from marine-derived environments and extremophilic fungi from Antarctica, represents an important niche for the discovery of new enzymes, which can provide the properties of interest for environmental and industrial sectors. Thus, this project has as the main goal the transcriptome sequencing of different micro-organisms from brazilian coastal and Antarctica aiming to discover new enzymes for biotechnological applications.
