Genome sequencing of Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. ricini (Yoshi & Takimoto 1928) Vauterin et al. 1995

Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. ricini is a bacterial pathogen known for causing bacterial leaf spot disease in castor bean plants (Ricinus communis). This pathogen significantly impacts castor crop yields by inducing symptoms such as leaf spots, blights, and defoliation. Effective management of this disease is crucial for maintaining the productivity and health of castor bean crops, which are valued for their oil-rich seeds. We sequenced several strains of this pathogen from the National Collection of Plant Pathogenic Bacteria.
