Trait shifts in time and space

This is the data and script for the manuscript titled "Size traits reliably track warming, while leaf economic traits respond, more variably, to precipitation" submitted to Global Ecology and Biogeography i November 2025. The data is a set of functional traits measured in 2016 and 2017, and a dataset of community composition changes in the period 2009-2019. The "cleaning" code takes all the raw data an cleans it for analysis, the bootstrap_analysis script runs the analysis on the cleaned data, and the "Figures_TDT_paper" script makes the figures for the manuscript. The Raw data files are: LeafTraits_SeedClim = the functional traits measured in the field CNratio = the carbon and nitrogen content of different leaf samples Dict_CN = the naming dictonary to link CNratio dataset with the LeafTraits_SeedClim dataset Leaf_Area_total = leaf area measurements of the leaves comdat_2009-2019_TTC = community composition data from 2009 till 2019 of the plots in this analysis species_info & systematics_species = datasets with different kinds of information on the species AAGridedDailyClimateData2009-2019 = climate data for the sites over the study period The Cleaning script is set up so that the raw data files are in a folder in the project called "Data" and the scripts in a folder calleed "R". You need to set this up yourself, as now the files are not in folders.本数据集配套提交至学术期刊《Global Ecology and Biogeography》的研究论文《植株大小性状可稳定追踪升温过程，而叶片经济性状对降水的响应更具变异性》（Size traits reliably track warming, while leaf economic traits respond, more variably, to precipitation），投稿时间为2025年11月，包含对应实验数据与分析脚本。 本数据集包含两类核心数据：其一为2016年与2017年野外实测的功能性状（functional traits）数据集，其二为2009-2019年的群落组成（community composition）动态数据集。配套分析脚本包括：数据清洗脚本`cleaning`，用于预处理所有原始数据以适配后续分析；bootstrap分析脚本`bootstrap_analysis`，用于对清洗完成的数据集开展统计检验；以及论文配图脚本`Figures_TDT_paper`，用于生成论文所需的全部可视化图表。 原始数据文件清单如下： - `LeafTraits_SeedClim`：野外实测功能性状数据集 - `CNratio`：不同叶片样品的碳氮含量数据集 - `Dict_CN`：用于关联`CNratio`与`LeafTraits_SeedClim`数据集的命名映射表 - `Leaf_Area_total`：叶片面积测定数据集 - `comdat_2009-2019_TTC`：本研究样地2009-2019年群落组成数据集 - `species_info`与`systematics_species`：涵盖各类物种基础信息与分类学信息的数据集 - `AAGridedDailyClimateData2009-2019`：研究时段内各站点的逐日格点气候数据集 数据清洗脚本预设原始数据需存放于项目目录下的`Data`文件夹，分析脚本需存放于`R`文件夹；当前数据集未按该目录结构整理，使用者需自行完成文件夹配置。
