SUMMEER Workshop – Understanding Data Needs for Sustainable Post-Disaster Material Management

SUMMEER organized its first interdisciplinary workshop, bringing together academic researchers and practitioners from both public and private sectors with the aim of identifying and prioritizing the data needs for sustainable post-disaster material management. Organized by SUMMEER’s cross institutional leadership, the two-day workshop took place in Tallahassee Florida, on the 13th and 14th of January 2022. The workshop was delivered in a hybrid mode, so participants could join either in-person or remotely, to facilitate attendance amid COVID-19 concerns. Overall, the workshop introduced SUMMEER to the interdisciplinary sustainable material research community and enabled the identification and prioritization of the post-disaster data needs to facilitate the sustainable management of disaster debris and wastes. This project encompasses a workshop report summarizing the findings from SUMMEER's first workshop.
